Car Guards

Ah yes…
Some, people love them, some hate them. It’s questionable how much guarding they do, do.
Whilst many are well meaning, and take a lot of abuse from people, understand that essentially they are contravening the law.

There is no obligation to give any money to car guards. If you feel obliged, we recommend no more than R5-10.

If one tells you it’s obligatory to pay, or the parking fee is R50, it’s not true in the least. We see this often especially on Beach Road, and it appals us.

Don’t be shy to complain to local law enforcement. Call Law Enforcement or the Police on +27 21 437 8140 or ask for their bosses phone number (you’re unlikely to get a straight answer, but it will be interesting).
